Assessment Calendars

These were released last week and form an important basis for your son's planning. Using this document, your son should be writing key dates (draft and due dates, along with exam block) into his college diary.

Please note that some subjects will conduct assessment during class time.  This will be slightly different per class. For example, Drama performances will occur across Drama classes which fall at different times. Your son will be informed of due dates for these subjects during class times.

Year 7 Tutoring

The Academic Captains are trailing tutoring for our Year 7 boys on Mondays from 3:15pm to 4:15pm in Room 105.  This will start next Monday 14 August.  No need to sign up, just show up.

Year 8 Literacy and Numeracy

On Thursday 10 August during Periods 4 and 5, Year 8 students will complete a literacy and numeracy assessment. This is to provide our teachers with valuable insight into the progression of literacy and numeracy skills amongst these boys. The boys do not require any preparation but will need their laptops and a pen on the day.

Year 9 Performance and Pathways Conversations

Many thanks to the parents, students and staff involved in the Performance and Pathway conversations that have been occurring over the past few weeks. This has been a great opportunity to discuss what subjects your son/s is interested in for Year 10.

It is very important to understand that Year 10 is the year that your son should be trying different subjects so that he can make an informed choice of subjects into Years 11 and 12.  A key message has been to choose subjects that you enjoy and are good at. s

If you have yet booked in for your performance and pathways conversation, please contact curriculum@marash.qld.edu.au to schedule a time.
