What's happening!

Message from Mr Russo

Dear Parents

As we move towards  new routines during these times of social isolation, it is important to remember to be kind to ourselves, even when some of the simplest tasks appear more complex than they should. This not just applies to your students but to you our parents as well. We are having to navigate birthdays, learning, shopping, exercising (to name a few) in new and unique ways. Long after all the temporary plans are lifted to keep us safe at this time, as families we will look back and remember the fun we had or different ways we went about the ordinary parts of life.

ANZAC DAY

On Saturday we will embrace a new way of recognising our Armed Services, not through parades and gathering but via visible signs in our driveways on Saturday morning. I encourage as many of you all to participate in this new way of sharing in the day on ANZAC Day.

Victoria Police

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the four Police Officers who were killed in the line of duty yesterday afternoon. We are also thinking of all our Police officers today (in our local and extended community) as they come to terms with the loss of their colleagues and friends. We are very grateful to our Police officers and all they do to keep us safe in our community.

Google Meet (formerly Hangouts)

A Caremonkey permission was sent home for approval yesterday and this is to permit students to have face - to face time with their class teacher. Please ensure this has been approved prior to Monday morning. Wendy Sullivan will communicate further information to families tomorrow in relation to the practicalities of how these will be scheduled and used amongst levels.

Access to student Google Drive

Families are asked to access their child's google drive via their child's login. Sharing the drive with others outside our organisation domain can/will compromise the safety and security of our online learning spaces.

Feedback on Learning Tasks

Students are asked to ensure they are following directions form staff on how and where to upload completed tasks to streamline the process for feedback - this will be in the form of group response by the teacher or individual response - relative to the task completed.

Screen Time

We all know the benefits of a balanced lifestyle (nutrition, sleep, activity, etc) so at this time it is important that students are having appropriate breaks in the day and as adults this is something we can easily model within our family units, which will help us to manage our screen time too.
