Learning Conferences

Monday 2nd March & Tuesday 3rd March

The Three Way Learning Conferences will be held again this year for all parents and carers with children in Years 1 - 6.  These conferences provide a time for parents/carers, students and teachers to come together to talk about the learning of each child.  It is important for your child to be present at the conference because:

Learning is enhanced when students, parents/carers and teachers work together in a partnership.

It’s an opportunity for each child to share his/her learning and set goals, which is an essential skill for life-long learning.

The meeting process encourages children to develop responsibility for their own learning.

At the conference:

1. You will be invited to share information about your child (interests, hobbies, sports played etc).

2. Your child and his/her teachers will talk about current learning goals.

3. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about the learning goals.

Please contact the school office to book a time for your learning conference.  We look forward to seeing you soon.

5 Questions

5 questions to ask your child at the end of the school day:

1. What did you learn  today?

2. How did you go?

3. What did you do if you needed help?

4. How can you improve?

5. What are you most proud of?

Asking these questions reinforces the language we are using in the classroom - keeping the focus on what children have learnt, rather than what they have done.

Have a wonderful week!
