It has been fantastic to spend the last two weeks meeting all the vibrant and enthusiastic students of St. Joseph's school, along with many of their families. Once again I would like to say thank you for the warm welcome I have received over that last fortnight.
New Furniture and Learning Spaces
With the arrival of our new furniture last Monday, our learning spaces have been transformed into dynamic hives of activity that both students and teachers absolutely love working in. Even though we are still working out what furniture works best and where; the students have already started experiencing many of the benefits of these spaces.
Some of these are:
- Improved ability to collaborate and share ideas whilst working on guided and independent tasks.
- More frequent opportunities for teacher feedback through effective co-teaching practice.
- Increased clarity of instruction and through state-of-the-art sound and audio equipment.
New Playground Areas
It has also been great for the students to get back their playground and new eating areas. This has meant that we are once again all eating and playing in one large area and our senior students have been showing particularly good leadership in modeling our expectations during recess and lunch breaks. Keep up the good work seniors.
CSO Executive Visit
Last Wednesday afternoon, members of the Catholic Schools Office came to visit our new buildings and were very impressed with how settled and organised the new learning spaces were and how engaged and well behaved our students were. They all commented on the positive feeling they got when walking through the spaces.
Annual Mass for the Consecrated Life
Today Mrs. Holland, myself and the Yr. 6 Captains attended the Annual Mass for the Consecrated Life at Mary Help of Christians, South Tamworth. The captains were great ambassadors for our school, showing maturity and reverence while representing our school.
