Dear Sacred Heart School Community

This week we celebrated the Walk to School Initiative", which is sponsored by the Darebin Council. The initiative advocates the well being benefits of students exercising regularly, in particular the benefits provided by walking to school.  All week Jodi has been looking out for our students and families who use the crossing appropriately. On Wednesday, all our students participated in a walkathon promoting walking as a fun form of exercise. The council provided some delicious fresh fruit for the occasion for our students to re-energise after their walking.

Our school's environment group have introduced a campaign this past week, encouraging all students and families to collect their plastic bottle tops and bring them to school. The bottle tops are being collected to help the organisation "Envision Hands", who turn recycled bottle tops into prosthetics for children who have a hand missing. Congratulations to Huy and Emily on organising this great initiative. They ask for your kind support in sending your plastic bottle tops into our school.

A reminder next week that there is no school for our students on Monday as the teachers will be writing reports and on Tuesday due to the Melbourne Cup public holiday.

Due to next week being a short week, there will be no newsletter. The newsletter the following week will be the final one to go out to all families as a hard copy. On week seven as previously publicised, the newsletter will be emailed to all families so it can be read online and a hard copy made available only to those families who have requested one.

Just sometimes, it's better not to know what is happening. All i know is that Marty was seen inside the dump master muttering something about 20cent ice cream cones at McDonalds!

Yours sincerely
