Jnr Toddler and Toddler

Working together

In the month of April we have extended our Family Group time and have invited the Junior Toddler children to share our experiences together. This has be an amazing experience for all ages. Children have been learning skills by watching the older children engage in physical, dramatic and craft activities. This has given the children an opportunity to take on coaching/leadership roles when teaching and demonstrating new skills. It has been pleasing to watch the children adapt and take on these additional learning experiences with enthusiasm and care.

Creative Expression

The children have been happily engaging in many craft activities. They have been showing interest in pasting, offering the children a variety of textures to work with, expanding their concentration and fine motors skills as they create their pieces.

Painting has also been a popular activity. The children love socializing together, sharing conversations and expressing their artistic flair.

Easter Celebrations

Exciting times! Children were delighted to decorate the Easter Tree with colourful eggs.  They worked well together, sharing the space and coaching each other as it was a little tricky to feed the hangers through the  leaves.

We continued the week with Easter celebrations by making sock bunnies and paper plate bunnies.

Easter Bunny secretly made there way into the Kinder room and hid yummy chocolate eggs. The children were all eager to go on the Easter hunt,  thrilled when they found  them.

We also had a special guest hop into the playground, a little 'brown rabbit.' The rabbit stopped at the long grass and began nibbling. The children watched quietly, amazed to see the cute fluffy rabbit.

Self-Portraits

We have been focusing on self-portraits, helping children to connect and build a strong sense of their identity.  We are having  conversations about our face, naming all the the parts and describing their unique  features that make them who they are!

The children are delighted to look at a photo of themselves, displaying lots of love and pride.

They have an opportunity to draw their face, showing concentration and pointing to their features as they replicate themselves.

We aim to have the portraits on display in reception in the coming weeks for parents to admire their amazing work.

Stay Safe

On behalf of all the educators working in the Toddler Room we hope you are all keeping yourselves safe during these challenging times.

Warm wishes from Inoka, Nuria, Lovely, Dee, Sonia,  Naomi, Cherrie and Olga
