Nursery 1 & Nursery 2

April Newsletter- Nursery 1 and Nursery 2

Nursery 1 and 2 stayed together over the month of April. These two similar age groups continued their journey of learning together disregard of the prevailing situation in the country.

Increased outdoor play time.

As per our new regulations, more out door time was provided for the children. Main idea behind this was to maintain the social distancing between them by allowing children to play in a larger area which keeps them scattered. Apart from the social distancing they earned a lot of positive outcomes by being in the outdoor environment.

Spending more time in outdoor has proven to boost our immune systems. Our children had the opportunity to explore the natural world using their five senses and enhance their sensory skills. Outdoor play improves their motor skills, cognitive skills, social skills and creativity.  It also encourages independence and problem solving skills in children.

Easter bunnies

Nursery 1 and 2 had lot of fun during the Easter week. "Easter egg hunt" was a much loved activity by everyone. We hid colorful plastic eggs all over the room and our little bunnies were given baskets to find the eggs and fill them up. Children had to navigate through the room, look under the toys, furniture and fabric to find their eggs. After filling their baskets, they sat down to admire the eggs, feel them with their hands and fingers and share them with each other.

Creativity and imaginary play

There was no end to the creativity and imaginary play in the nursery room this month. Many drawing and painting activities took place during this time, targeting their hand-eye coordination, Fine motor skills, Grasping skills and creativity.

Pretend play in the "animals-corner" was  a good opportunity to learn the names of the animals, their sounds and build relationships with peers.

Safety first..!!

We are following a lot of safety measures to keep our babies and their lovely families and our educators safe and healthy during this current Covid-19 situation. We admire your kind cooperation in this matter and hope you continue to support the safety rules followed by the centre. Thank you for your understanding and keep safe..!!
