Message from the Head of Campus
Ms Kerrie Neophytou
We recently had our official opening for Stage 1B, this included the building and covered multipurpose courts.
The College had received funding from the Australian Government under the Capital Grants Program (CGP) for the project and it was an honor to have Ms Joanne Ryan MP, Member for Lalor attend on behalf of the Australian Government.
The event was lead by our Year 6 Captains Bavna and Abhiraj and we were honoured to have wonderful guests, parents and our students and staff. We are greatful for the following guest who attended: Ms Joanne Ryan, the Member of Lalor, The Mayor – Councillor Peter Maynard and Deputy Mayor – Councillor Jasmine Hill, Mr Higgins, our Executive Principal, Mr John Gadalla - a College Board Director, Ps Dan Parker and a Mr Geoff Goodwin a Church Elders. We were very happy to also have Mr Burgess the Head of Campus from Heatherton Christian College, and Mr Graeme Huff our Project Manager and Mr Maurice Leone, our Architect to share this time with us.
Our ceremony represented community and how we all came together to acknowledge the hard work of so many and celebrate the wonderful days ahead.
Ceremony Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father
May the buildings at our College house our students, staff and family’s potential to learn and know You.
We ask that You bless every individual who enters our gates, that each day is cherished with Your way – that we walk in faith, hope and love.
Lord, as You are our beacon of light, may each obstacle we encounter, be an opportunity to grow in mind, body and Your spirit.
We are grateful to every individual who has contributed to our College’s growth and may their days always be blessed.
As You are the vine and we are the branches, may our community continue to grow and we bear the fruit of the spirit.
May we remain connected to You in all our days.
In Jesus’ name we pray
Acknowledgement of Country
As we gather together as a community under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and in the presence of God, we acknowledge the Bunurong and Wadawurrung peoples as traditional custodians of the land upon which we meet.
As we continue to learn to live together on these ancestral lands, we acknowledge past, present and emerging leaders of the Aboriginal communities of Australia.
Our prayer to God is that healing, forgiveness and reconciliation take place between First Australians and British, European, Migrant and Refugee communities from every quarter of the world. May there be respect and harmony between every group within the Australian community.
We affirm that through Jesus all things were made and exist. He died on a cross to reconcile all people to himself and break down the walls of hostility between every race, tribe and nation.
Ceremony Closing Prayer
Thanksgiving and Dedication
Heavenly Father
we thank you for the support of our government and we ask you to guide them in their service to the Australian people.
We thank you also for our Council and their support, give them wisdom as they serve our community.
We also thank you for every person and organisation that has contributed to this wonderful structure.
We now dedicate this building and courts to the glory of God and ask that your blessing and presence be upon these structures and people who use them.
Let children flourish and grow in their education, spiritual development, character development and creative talents.
We ask for these things in Jesus Name
