A Spotlight on Learning

A word from the Learning Specialists…

Sports Week

During the last week of Term 3, the SRC organised some fun filled activities for Sports Week to help raise much needed funds for the Fight Cancer Foundation.

Activities included the longest kick challenge, the mystery kick challenge, sports dress up day, face painting (thanks Janelle Levy!) and a staff vs. students netball match!

It was wonderful to see many students putting themselves out of their comfort zones by trialling something new! The staff are proud to report that as a result of them bringing their A game, they narrowly won the staff vs. students netball match! Well done to all students and staff who played!

Thank you to our SRC for planning and delivering a fun filled week, and to our ACS community for your generous donations. We raised a total of $407 for the Fight Cancer Foundation. All money will go towards helping people living with cancer and their families as well as funding for vital research into cancer treatment and cures.

Well done on being a part of another successful end of Term fundraiser!

Learning Community Assemblies

Today, learning communities across the school held their first ever Learning Community Assembly! These will be occurring on non-assembly weeks on Friday afternoons.

The core purpose of Learning Community Assemblies is to provide a special platform for student achievements to be recognised and celebrated in front of all of their peers and learning adults. Students who have demonstrated exemplary expected behaviours throughout the fortnight, will be awarded a value recognition card. There is one for each of our values, Care, Collaboration and Commitment. This community time will strengthen common language, behavioural expectations and relationships. Please see images below of the student recognition cards.
