YEAR 9 Polish
Work Readiness Program

Maffra Secondary College and the Beacon Foundation hosted a Polish Work Readiness Program on the Tuesday & Wednesday the 6th and 7thof September. The Beacon program helps selected Year 9 Students to get ready for work.
Polish empowers students to better navigate their transition into the future world of work. Over the course our students will participate in activities to raise awareness of global trends, understand the value of developing skills relevant to the workplace and practice how to promote themselves to an employer.
Mentors shared their career stories and employment advice which can help students to be inspired and feel more confident about this significant stage in their lives. This is important because, as research supports, young people who make a successful transition from school to work have higher levels of self-esteem, well-being, and financial security than those who don’t.
