Year 7/8 Boys’

Basketball

On Thursday the 15th September Maffra Year 7 and 8 Boy’s competed in a Gippsland Interschool Basketball Tournament. This was Maffra’s first opportunity to be involved since 2019 as a result of COVID restrictions.

The Year 8 Boys had two matches against Sale Catholic College and Sale Secondary College. Whilst they were competitive in both matches they missed out on a win.

The year 7 Boys had two matches as well against Sale Catholic College and Traralgon Secondary College. As a result of an excellent win against Traralgon Secondary College they qualified for a 3rd place play off against Yarram Secondary College. The Year 7 Boys were able to win this match and finished the Tournament in third place overall. A great effort!

Both Teams represented Maffra with sportsmanship and excellent behaviour and should be congratulated for the effort on the day. Most of the boys also committed to some training sessions during Term 3 which was a credit to their commitment.
