Celebrating 40 Years of Service from the Heart

Sacred Heart Mission is celebrating four decades of heart, faithful service and the future. It said that life begins at forty. Yet, Sacred Heart mission has already achieved so much and transformed thousands of lives since it was founded in 1982.

Join us on Sunday, 27 November from 11:00 a.m.  for a special Mass to commemorate four decades of serving the community, to celebrate who we are today and the spirit of ongoing faithful service into the future.

The Mission will generously provide the refreshments from 11.45 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. but volunteers are needed to help serve and make tea/coffee, and assist with the cleaning up after the event. Anyone interested, please contact Jane or Christine at the parish office.

More Volunteers Needed at the Sacred Heart Mission

The Mission has now expanded the meal program in the dining hall from five days/week to seven days/week.  Since reopening more fully, both the dining hall and the Op shops urgently require volunteers to keep these activities fully functioning.

Previous to Covid, 1800 volunteers across Mission services were on hand, since returning after lockdown, this number has dropped to 500 volunteers.

If you would like to assist either the dining hall, the Op shops or some other service in the Mission, please register on their website: www.sacredheartmission.org
