Hello there MCC community,

Our final term of the academic year is well underway at MCC. Year 12 2022 are cresting the summit of the HSC mountain with the end in sight and a well-deserved break at the top. The college would again like to take this opportunity to wish our HSC students well in their remaining exams.

Year 12 2023 have just begun their final schooling journey this term. They have taken up the challenge of HSC course content and are implementing the skills developed during the preliminary course. To the 2023 student cohort I would say this: now is the time to develop and deploy your study routine. Make use of all the resources you have at your disposal – ask questions in class (and via email), submit practice responses, use the digital platforms to assist your study and above all work hard. To borrow from the ancient Greek writer Sophocles; without labour nothing prospers. Oh! And use your time wisely it goes ever so fast – just ask the 2022 group!

Year 10 are advancing through their final junior school term. It is important at this juncture that they continue to work to a high standard to the end of the term across all of their subjects their sense of achievement and just as important ROSA results depend on it.

Faculty continue their learning journeys this term as we push forward with our professional learning teams. It is during these collegial working teams that we develop our pedagogical skills to enable us as teachers to deliver high quality, authentic and tailored learning experiences to our student body.

Additionally, staff are diligently completing Year 11 reports before P/T/S conferences in week 4. Finally, MCC is currently hosting two pre-service teachers – Miss Reynolds and Mr Forrest; an alumnus of the College (graduating year 2012). They are both situated in the HSIE faculty with Ms Swan, Ms Sparkes and Ms Foschi and are readily engaging with the numerous learning opportunities here at the College.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend.
