Regional Sports Centre - Saturday 29 October

Don't miss our Come and Try Gala Day to celebrate the opening of the new Griffith Regional Sports Centre on Saturday 29 October! It’s going to be a massive day, and everyone is welcome to come along from 9am to watch the Australian Prime Minster, the Hon. Anthony Albanese officially open the Griffith Regional Sports Centre.This is a free event supported by the Australian Sports Commission’s Regional Sports Event Fund, and a chance for the community to have a look at our new state-of-the-art centre and try some of the sport activities on offer. Elite sporting personalities will be there:

 

GIANTS Netball head coach Julie Fitzgerald and players Maddie Hay and Lauren Moore will be here.

 

For hockey, we have former Kookaburras player & Olympian Brent Livermore & 2022 Women’s National Hockey Development Squad player Zoe Newman.

 

In athletics, double-Olympian, Semi Finalist at the Rio Olympics and 2015 World Championships in the 400m Anneliese Rubie-Renshaw will be visiting.

 

For Basketball fans, David Herbert, head coach from the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence – Woman’s Program at the Australian Institute of Sport will be here, along with 4 future Opals & Boomers players.
