Principal's Report

Dear Families,

The rain has just kept coming down! Thanks to our staff who have been able to keep the students dry this week as our opportunities for outside play have been very limited. We've seen a very busy Central Learning Space during our recess breaks with students being engaged in inside activities.

Concert

Our school concert is quickly approaching with only one week to go. The staff have visited the stage and will take the students down to rehearse over the coming week. We have our fingers crossed for some better weather for next Thursday.  Emmersyn at the Junction Hotel has been fantastic in working with us for this event. I am looking forward to seeing how this concert goes in a local setting after being at Eastbank for many years. Mrs Kimmorley has once again done a power of work to ensure that our teachers and students are ready for the night.

Transition

Our transition program has commenced with Miss Bec Larcombe helping the Kindergarten students become more familiar with the school environment. We are very fortunate to have the Kindergarten onsite, which makes these weekly sessions very smooth. We hope that the students have enjoyed their visits so far.

Swimming Program

Thank you to all families for ensuring our swimming program at Aquamoves was a great success. Thanks to Bree Giles for her great work in getting the buses and bookings sorted, it certainly made for a stress-free week at the pool. We had a very high participation rate from the students who are now more familiar with their abilities around water. The sessions this year were 45 minutes which allowed for a very good instructor to student ratio. Thanks also to all the parents who came along to Aquamoves to see their children swim. It was great to chat with you.

School Council

Our next meeting will be Monday 20th October at 6:30pm. Finance committee will meet at 6pm.

See you at the concert,

Craig Thompson
