Real Industry Job Interviews

Recently, students at LHCS Coburg participated in the 'Real Industry Job Interviews' (RIJI) that was facilitated by the Inner Northern Local Learning and Employment Network (INLLEN). The RIJI program is the final part of the Vocational Mentoring Exchange that students participated in during Term 2. Students prepared their resumé and a cover letter to 'apply' for an advertised job in an industry/profession of interest to them. INLLEN organised recruiters from each chosen industry/profession so that students could sit mock-interviews with individuals who can provide specific feedback about strengths and weaknesses displayed by students during the interview process. The mock-interviews were held at Coburg Town Hall, a quick walk from LHCS Coburg.

Well done to Ed, Brandon, Isaac and Angas who each prepared for and participated in the RIJI program.

Transition to work

After successfully completing her VCAL Intermediate certificate at LHCS Coburg, student Lolittah has been working at a local automotive spray painting workshop. While at LHCS, Lolittah was consistent in her maturity, hard-work and conscientious approach to learning. She continues to demonstrate these attributes at work and the business have now signed her up for an apprenticeship . Alongside her apprenticeship, Lolittah will be continuing her studies at Kangan TAFE. Well done, Lolittah.
