Wear It Purple Day
Wear it Purple Day is an LGBTIQA+ awareness day especially for young people, which our school community celebrated on the 26th August. To show our support for our LGBTIQA+ students and staff members, we wore purple and celebrated the diversity in our school community.
Crazy Hair Day
On 30th August, the school recognised Crazy Hair Day in support of cystic fibrosis research. The school acknowledges the impact that cystic fibrosis has had on several current and former staff members and students.
Love Bites Program
LOVE BiTES is a well-established national respectful relationships program created by The National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN). LOVE BiTES aims to provide young people with a safe environment to examine, discuss and explore respectful relationships with a strength-based approach. It views young people as active participants who are able to make choices for themselves and their relationships when supported.
LHCS students at both Coburg and Richmond recently participated in facilitated LOVE BiTES sessions. Students engaged appropriately and respectfully and all involved agreed that the program was received.
ICAN Program
Several students worked with mentors as part of the school's annual participation in the ICAN Program. The ICAN Program acknowledges the neurodiversity of our students and engages them in activities to assist build their capacity to problem solve, build social skills and enhance a positive self-image.
