Myrniong - ELC to Yr 6

House Swimming

Tomorrow sees our first House competition for 2022, the House Swimming at Hamilton’s Hughan Park outdoor pool. Prep to Year Two water confidence events commence at around 9.30am. Parents and grandparents are most welcome to attend and cheer on the students. All visitors will be required to QR code and show their vaccination certificate.  Parent tents will be set up on the western side of the pool. We ask parents to please refrain from entering the student House tents on the eastern side of the pool. Our wonderful Parents’ and Friends’ Association will be running a barbeque as a charity fundraiser. Sausages, fruit boxes, bottled water and icy poles will be on sale. We look forward to some wonderful swimming from our Junior School students.

Parent/Teacher Information Afternoons

The good news is we will be able to run our Parent/Teacher Information Afternoons in person. Parents will have the opportunity to meet their child’s 2022 teacher, ask questions and hear about the structure of year level programs. We have split the session over two afternoons.

Tuesday 15 February - Prep, Year Two, Year Five and Year Six - 3.45pm

Wednesday 16 February - Year One, Year Three and Year Four - 3.45pm

Meetings will be held in ventilated classrooms. Parents attending must wear masks, be double vaccinated and QR code on entry. We look forward to meeting parents next week.

2022 School Photographs

This year’s school photographs have been pushed forward to Term One. They will take place at Myrniong on Tuesday 22 February. Family photos involving siblings at the Senior School will take place on Wednesday 23 February. Students are required to be in full summer uniform. Girls are to wear summer dresses and blazers and boys should wear shorts, ties and blazers.

Generational school photos

Also, after school on 22 February, there is an opportunity for College families – with two of more generations of College students – to have a photo together. This is part of our 150th celebrations. For more information about this, contact Alana Brown via abrown@hamiltoncollege.vic.edu.au or 5572 1355.

Year Six Transition Program

Our Year Six students have commenced their Music and Science lessons at the Senior School. This is an important component of our transition program. In Week One of our timetable, the students will start each Tuesday at the Senior School. A room has been set aside in the MPAC building for them to gather to take the roll and bus list. They will then join Mr. Hiscock in Period 1 for their Music lesson. Students can be dropped at around 8:45am and morning buses will stop at the Senior School.

Term One Tuesday dates that students will start at the Senior School are: 15 February; 1 March; 15 March and 29 March.
