From the Principal

We would like to acknowledge the original custodians of this land

and pay our respects to the Elders past and present and emerging,

for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Indigenous Australia.

Dear Families

SCHOOL PROMOTIONS

As part of our promotion of the school we will be hosting tours for prospective parents wanting to enrol their child in primary school.  This is an opportune time to showcase the teaching and learning that takes place in our school.  Promotional material is in the process of being placed in kindergartens and daycare centers in our local area with information about the tours.

I ask for your support and help to speak to family members, friends, neighbours or even any people at work who you know will have a school aged child for 2023.  We would also like to ask that you support our school by sharing any posts on our Facebook or Instagram accounts.  This will also help promote our school amongst the wider community.

We are able to take enrolments from the Ormond  and Caulfield Parishes also.

I would appreciate it if you would  please pass the word around that tours will be available on the following dates, or interested families can simply book an alternative time by calling the School Office 9563 6780.   These dates are on our school website.

                             Tuesday 1 March 9.00am -11.00am

                             Wednesday 9 March 9.00am -11.00am

                             Tuesday 15 March 9.00am -11.00am

Our Year 6 Leaders will proudly conduct the tours and show the families around the school, describing the wonderful learning that takes place in classrooms.

STAFF COMMUNICATION

A reminder that all communications with staff are to be made by either email or calls to the school office.  They will reply as soon as possible outside of their classroom teaching hours or yard duties that they have.  Tuesday and Wednesdays are professional learning times after school and teachers are involved with these each week so may be unable to reply.  Please allow 48 hours for your message to be attended to.  Should anything be of an urgent matter please call the school and  leave a message as to what the matter applies to.

School Advisory Council - SAC

Congratulations to Daniel Clohesy who was elected as Chairperson of the Council. The team are looking forward to working together this year.  A SAC report will be in the next newsletter.

SAFETY AT SCHOOL CROSSING THE ROAD

The safety of our students is paramount not only at school but also on their way to and from school.   The traffic along Grange and Neerim Roads has returned to almost normal, especially at the start and the end of school hours.  I ask that you use the Pedestrian Crossing at the intersection where it is safer than trying to dash across the road through the cars.  As adults the example of safety and correct procedure should be shown so that the children learn how to obey the rules.  Please speak to your children about crossing safely at the lights.

Reflection:

“Lord Jesus, I want to follow you today.”

Sincerely yours

Margaret Carlei
