Prayers

  • For our students and staff as we begin face-to-face learning for 2022
  • For the repose of the soul of Kevin McKennariey (Shaun Wiggin’s uncle)
  • For the repose of the soul of Sadie Webster (Rachelle Garton’s grandmother in-law)
  • For the repose of the soul of Ian Cole (Pop to Max and Jed Cole)
  • For the people of Tonga as they recover from the devasting effects of the recent natural disasters
  • For those in our community who are unwell or suffering at this time
May our loving God, with Mary and Champagnat, walk with all members of the Marist family. Amen

From the College Chaplain Fr Alatini Kolofo’ou

Henry Nouwen is an authority on the spiritual life.

He makes this surprising statement in his book Prayer and Hope:

“[The person] who prays with hope might ask for everything…like nice weather and advancement. This concreteness is a sign of authenticity…

“All those concrete requests are merely…ways of saying that we must trust in the fullness of God’s goodness…Whenever we pray with hope we put our lives in the hands of God.”

These quotes from Nouwen reminds us not to hesitate to place before God all our concrete needs. How concretely and specifically do we speak to God about the affairs of our life?

Jesus said to his disciples, “Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.”

Mary, our Good Mother, pray for us.
St. Marcellin Champagnat, pray for us.
St. Mary of the Cross, pray for us.
And may we always remember to pray for one another.

College Community Mass

We are fortunate and blessed to have a College Chaplain that celebrates Eucharist for this community every Wednesday morning in the College Chapel of Our Lady and St Marcellin at 8:00am prior to the school day.

So as not to miss this opportunity to engage in our faith lives the College is live streaming these Masses during the current lockdown restrictions. The link for Mass tomorrow 9 February is:  https://youtu.be/7lwuAB-ECow

Game Changers Youth Ministry Program

As part of our suite of MATES offerings, Game Changers is a positive and engaging way for the young men of the College to meet each other, learn more about the way to be Marist in the world and have fun! Game Changers will continue in 2022 for students in all year levels. Meetings will commence later in Term 1. For more information, or to sign up, please contact Mr Burns or Mrs McLean in the Mission Office.
