Reporting Alignment 2022

As part of the amalgamation of the two campuses, there are many fundamental school processes that need to be aligned in order to ensure that there is consistency across the school. In 2022, one of our focus areas is reporting. Our endeavour at the College is to ensure that, by the commencement of the 2023 school year, processes around reporting student achievement are consistent across both Campuses.

As we recognise the crucial role that parents play in supporting their charges and their learning, ensuring that parents have access to progress and achievement in a timely manner is vital. In support of this, we are endeavouring to move to a more continuous reporting approach across the school, whereby academic achievement information is accessed from the parent portal PAM. The intention is to provide a turnaround time no greater than two weeks from the time of submission and we will be using 2022 to embed this practice. We encourage parents and carers to monitor academic progress regularly as it is provided via PAM. Summative reporting will continue to be provided to families at the end of each semester. The format of this may change to reflect the move to continous reporting.

As highlighted in the previous newsletter, reporting on student habits will now be completed according to criteria that are clearly stated in the habits rubric. Whilst the rubric and accompanying process will be reviewed mid-year and refined, it is designed to gain consistency in classrooms across the school and reinforces the school’s statement of High Quality Learning and Teaching. Following the survey sent to parents some weeks ago, there was feedback questioning how the reporting on this would be used and support students to improve. Whilst further details will be provided, in essence it will be used to monitor student learning behaviours into the future and develop their behaviours that contribute directly to their learning.

We look forward to working closely with families to ensure that the information provided via reporting keeps you informed, however also see the opportunity that more timely information gives in supporting learning. Opportunities will present themselves for families and students to be involved in this process; watch this space.
