On Thursday 24 February, our athletics team competed at Lakeside Stadium in the ACC athletics carnival. Overall, St Bede’s finished fourth in Division 1 - a great effort given there were 13 ACC schools competing on the day. Attached are the final results from the event, as well as St Bede’s individual results.
A total of 48 St Bede’s students competed in individual events and a further 10 competed in relays. While we are extremely proud of all the students who represented the College, it is worth highlighting the individual performances where our students won their event below. A special mention to Tarkyn O’Leary, who came 1st in both of his individual events for the day.
There were also many instances where our students placed 5th or 6th, but personally achieved their best times or distances. Whilst these efforts often go unrecognised, they are just as important as those who won their event. It is an example of our students determination and willingness who represent the College, even if they aren’t the best at it or have trained as much as their opponents. I was very encouraged to see how many students were eager to participate in the carnival this year.

We thank Mrs Matthews for coaching the students this season (and Mr Roberts for filling in one week).
