BOOK WEEK

Book week celebrations conclude with author visit by Scot Gardner.

On Monday 2 September, the Library and English Learning Area hosted Scot Gardner, award winning Australian author, to speak to our Year 9 students.  Scot entertained the students with stories of his life in rural Victoria and how he uses these ideas as the inspiration for his novels.  Several students were lucky enough to win signed copies of his books as lucky door prizes.

‘Scot was an inspiration who also has a sense of humour and a passion.’ (9I)

‘Really funny, engaging and relatable.’ ( 9J)

‘Scot’s talk was so funny, he made the whole crowd laugh and made writing sound fun.’ (9I)

‘Scot Gardner’s speech was a great opportunity. It was a memorable experience that I will never forget. He had my attention the whole way through and I am definitely going to read some of his novels.’ (9I)

Hilarious!! I liked his personal experience and how he talked about himself but also the books he wrote! Loved it! (9J)
