NETBALL VICTORIA ALL SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT 2013
On Tuesday 20 August 2013, McKinnon took the State Netball Centre for the Netball Victoria All School Championships. The college entered the Intermediate Girls and Boys division.
The Intermediate Girls played six matches against a range of private, catholic and public schools. The future looks bright for McKinnon netball, with three Year 8 girls (Hannah Rosenberg, Anika Duggan and Elisha Boland) selected in the team. Breanna Whitehead, Ashleigh Bell and Hannah Rosenberg were standouts on the day, and the girls finished with two wins and four losses.
The Intermediate Boys were represented by a similar team as 2012. These boys are talented at every sport, and their team chemistry shows when they take the court. They posted big wins early, and would take on Flinders College for a place at the State Finals. The scores were tight, however unfortunately Flinders ran away with a four goal win. The boys finished with four wins and one loss, and best players on the day were Riley Parker, Matt Wilkins and Max Schepisi.
Thanks to Miss Schmidt and Mr Blackwood for coaching on the day.
