School sport

Winter sports will continue this week. Students will have the choice of Rugby League, Netball, Soccer, Basketball, Tennis ($1.00) and Lawn Bowls.

HTS Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to all students who participated in the athletics carnival last Friday. Field events will be completed in the first two weeks next term during sport.

Term 3 Sports Dates

• Small Schools Knockout Rugby League Semi-Final Coonabarabran 25 July

• NSW All Schools Cross Country Sydney 26 July

• Netball NSW Cup Finals Inverell 7 August

• Diocesan Athletics Carnival Armidale 30 August

K-6 Sport

Polding Rugby Union Trials

Congratulations to Jock Sides who was selected into the Polding Rugby Union side in Forbes yesterday. Jock will now play at the PSSA Carnival  in August.

Year 3-6 Field Events

This week the Primary will participate in the Field Event finals. These will be held on the back oval on Thursday 4 July. Students participate in discus, shot put, long jump and high jump. 

 

Elective Sports – Term 3 (Year 3-6 Sport)

In Term 3 students from Years 3-6 will be participating in elective sports. Any bus travel is included in the price.

•    Indoor Sports - $3.50 per week

This will be held at the Inverell Indoor Centre. Students will do indoor cricket, netball and soccer.

•    School Sport – No Cost

This will be a variety of activities each week held at school on the back oval (eg. Hockey, Tee-ball, Basketball, Soccer, Cricket)

•    Ten Pin Bowling - $8.50

Shake Rattle and Bowl – Ring Street

•    Scootering – No Cost

Each week students will scooter to an area in town (eg Lake Inverell, Skatepark). All participants must have their own scooter and helmet.

•    Bushwalking – No cost

This will be at a variety of venues around town including on the pathways and a trip to Goonoowigall.

•    BMX/MTB/Cycling – no cost

Held at the new circuit, Lake Inverell Drive. Each week students will ride to the area. All participants must have their own bike and helmet.

•    King Fit - $3.50

This involves going to the Nick King Lifestyle Centre to do activities around strength, coordination and fitness. Qualified instructors take the class.

•    Dance – No Cost

This will be held at school and is not formal lessons. It will be following ‘Just Dance’ routines.
