Arts Week

The second last week of term was Arts Week at Wanganui. It was a week full of colour, noise, creativity and fun. We celebrated all of the Art subjects offered at Wanganui, including Dance, Music, Photography, Visual communication, Media and Studio Arts. The theme for the week was Recycling and many of the art works that were created and displayed featured the use of the rubbish we generate every day at school. This included a weaving project, a mosaic and some clothing. A highlight of the week was the "Trashion Parade" where Home Groups constructed some amazing costumes and paraded their work to the music of the Strings Ensemble Class.

The Arts staff would like to thank everyone who participated and contributed to the success of Arts Week. We look forward to doing it all again next year!

Home Groups also participated in a "Squiggle" competition. Congratulations to Lily Warren, who was declared the winner, and to Raff Sutherland who's squiggle was voted most popular by those who attended our exhibition.
