We're All in This Together

Lest We Forget

This week has seen the continuation of Remote Learning and the overall level of engagement remains very high. I would like to encourage everyone to keep going so that we can smash this virus out of the park. Delivering over 2800 lessons in under two weeks online has been a massive undertaking by our staff and I am so proud of everyone’s efforts.

Our attention this weekend turns to Anzac Day and whilst it will be different this year, I know that many of you will find the time to commemorate the occasion. We have prepared a small presentation that acknowledges the significance of this day on the Australian Calendar. Thanks to Noah and Aidan from Year 9 and Corey Lucas Evans for their significant contributions to this compilation.

Finally there are still some spaces available in the parent webinar on Tuesday Night at 6pm. Over 100 families have registered to join. If you check the Compass Newsfeed post from earlier in the week it will take you to the booking page.

I wish you all prolonged good health and thank all members of RSC community your support as we continue our Term 2 journey.

The Importance of Life

Sitting on my windowsill are the six tomatoes produced by my one and only plant. Looking at my pride and joy, these tomatoes have launched many interesting conversations and a lot of humour as well as symbolising and epitomising change.

Recent change has allowed for us to slow down and think about what’s important in life and to extend gratitude for new opportunities and different experiences. Connections with family and friends will continue to grow and flourish despite our resilience being tested. Just like tomatoes, our connections will require ongoing investment, nourishment, propping up and support developed through collaborative interactions, listening and learning.

In times ahead, aim to strengthen your beliefs, to reflect on your values and character strengths and to co create a hopeful and brighter future.
