2017 Intermediate Basketball Champions Cup

The following students qualified for the 2017 Basketball Champions Cup Tournament, which is Basketball Victoria's Elite Schools tournament to determine the State Champions in each age division. The Intermediate team made it through to the last 24 schools in Victoria after winning every game in the qualifying round at the State Basketball Centre by over 20 points. On Monday 7th August the team played at Dandenong Basketball Stadium against Rowville Secondary College, Mentone Grammar and Aquinas College in the Pool Matches to progress to the Elite 8 stage. The teams we competed against were all Under 17 and mostly consisted of Year 10 students. The PRSC team had players from Year 8, 9 and 10. Throughout the day, the boys never stopped trying and matched it with teams that went on to the next stage. A fantastic learning experience with an under sized team that represented the school with distinction. Well done to Brayden Laurie, Tom Tozer, Jack Bulstrode, Blake Goodridge, Luke Cooper, Harry Forbes, Mitch Craddock, Jimmy Maguire, Kane Timms and Joel Burton. A pleasure to coach.

Hockey Clinics and Game Simulation

Over the last 3 weeks the Year 7 and 8 EXCEL Sport classes have participated in Field Hockey clinics under the guidance of Joe Hill, an experienced hockey coach at Mentone Grammar Playing Fields and Frankston Hockey Club. For most of the students, hockey was a new sport but they picked it up quickly and used their game sense from other invasion sports with good success. The students will have the opportunity to use these skills in the upcoming Year 7 and 8 Interschool Sport competitions. Thanks to Joe Hill for putting the students through their paces.
