Farewell Year 12 

August each year is host to National Science Week. This year the College was involved in the 'Solar Car Challenge' associated with STELR. Students in Years 7-10 were involved in constructing and trialling solar cars (despite the cloudy weather!).

Leadership Forum

On the 17th August, student leaders were involved in a whole day forum reviewing the College vision, values and house structure. Students spoke passionately about why they were proud of our school and provided excellent ideas to help shape the future. The day culminated in groups presenting ideas for a new house system. Students will now be presenting their ideas to the school community for voting so that we can have a new house system, along with any changes to our current vision and values for the beginning of next year. 

Doctors in Schools

Atticus Health is now operating out of the new building each Thursday. At this this stage we are handling bookings for appointments via Ms Cavey (Assistant Principal). 

Preliminary NAPLAN Results

NAPLAN results were recently released to schools. Parents with children in Year 7 and 9 will be provided with reports from the VCAA in the coming weeks. Pleasingly, the College has seen improvement in most areas, including:

- Numeracy: 30% of Year 7 students in the Top 2 Bands of NAPLAN (2014=14%, 2015=19%, 2015=24%)

- Reading Comprehension: % of students achieving high growth between Year 7 & 9  = 24% (2014=16%, 2015=17%, 2015=19%). 

Soiree Sold Out

Our Annual Musical Soiree & Spring Concert sold out in record time. Although sold out, families who would like to see students perform are able to attend an open rehearsal in the morning of the 19th of September. Please contact Mr Mitchelmore for further details. 

Year 9 Students Connecting With The Community

It has been great to see so many Year 9 students out and about in the community assisting a range of organisations this term. Now in its 7th year, it is great to see this successful program connecting students in vital community services. 

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent teacher interviews will be held on Wednesday, 20th September 12.30-8pm. Students are not expected at school on this day unless attending interviews. Term 3 reports and the booking system will open on Compass mid next week. We will email families once both are available.
