Day in the Life

Our class visited Shepparton Library to view an exhibition telling the story of Anne Frank, who became a household name after the Holocaust. Miss Frank lived with her family in Amsterdam and received a diary for her 13th birthday in 1942, in which she starting writing in. The diary documented the years to come, particularly when the family was in hiding from the Nazis. The diary was published by Anne’s father Otto following her death in 1945.

The exhibition also featured several items, including a replica of Miss Frank’s diary, a star of David worn by Jewish people during the Holocaust to denounce their faith and a replica of the house where the family went into hiding.
