Student Free Day - April 4th
All staff from the four state secondary schools will be attending a Professional Development Day on Thursday, April 4, with the focus being on “trauma informed practice”. This is the first of four student-free days for the year, which is consistent with all other state schools across the state.
Parent/Teacher meetings – CHANGE OF TIMES
Due to a professional development day on Thursday 4th April, it was deemed sensible to move the parent/teacher interview evening to Wednesday, 3rd April.
Parent/Teacher interviews provide an excellent opportunity for you to speak directly with your children’s teachers. The parent/teacher meetings for Term 1 are now scheduled for Wednesday April 3 commencing at 4:30 pm and finishing at 7:30 pm, then again on Friday April 5 commencing at 9:00 am and finishing at 12 noon. You can book your meeting times with the relevant classroom teachers through XUNO commencing Monday March 25. Each meeting will be of 5 minutes duration. Due to the large numbers involved and the need to move from one building to another we suggest you allow a five minute break between each interview.
We encourage you to bring your children along with you to these discussions.
Progress Reports and SPA Reports
Wanganui Park SC has four cycles of reporting student performance and progress. The College’s teaching staff are currently preparing the first round of Progress Reports and Student Performance Average Reports. These will support feedback that should currently be on XUNO regarding your students’ performance on completed learning tasks. Both the Progress and SPA Reports will be available through XUNO on March 21.
Partners in Learning
One of our committees that we encourage our parents to be involved in is the Partners in Learning group. This committee looks at a range of educational opportunities that are available to our students and we welcome your input into this. Please call Karen Utber if you are interested in being involved.
