With the full Schoolboys’ Hockey Competition not running this year, our Hockey team played a friendly against Padua down at Burringbar Park last Friday afternoon. The team had changed since last year, with one notable exception: our goalie. Luckily, Nick Fisher (12) put on the pads and did a brilliant job being his first go at goalie.

Drawn at nil-all at half time, our boys fought hard to break the drought with goals coming from Sam Keir (11), Tyler Newell (12), and two from Cooper Cabot (11). Despite the minimal training, the boy’s years of playing together pulled through, and they took the win, 4 – nil.

A big thank you should go to Hayden Newell and Jordan Cabot for coaching the squad once again, as well as the Year 12 boarders who came out to support the team.

Congratulations should also go to Tyler Newell, Cooper Cabot, and Connor Armstrong, who have been playing in the team since they were in Year 7.

We’re looking forward to a full season next year!
