  Amazing Opportunities Online

Our VCE Dance students have had some amazing experiences over this period of remote learning. Apart from having some fabulous weekly technique classes with The Australian Ballet, our VCE students have also been mentored by the Head of Education, Katy McKeown on a weekly basis from The Australian Ballet.

This has brought about some wonderful opportunities, such as having a question and answer session about Swan Lake (our prescribed text) with two principle dancers, Amber Scott and Adam Bull who danced the roles of the Lead Swan (Odette) and the Prince. It was so kind of them to join our class and for the students to have the chance to ask questions about the work, the staging, the movement and the life of a professional Dancer.

Thanks to Katy we also had the amazing opportunity to host the Head of Dance, Professor Carol Brown from Victorian College of the Arts, The University of Melbourne, this week. Here students were able to ask questions about courses available, entrance requirements, audition advice, career pathways related to dance, post graduate courses and other courses available at the University.

We really appreciate her giving up some time for us. A huge thank you to Katy for joining us online this term and also to our special guests. Everyone has gained so much from these opportunities.
