Remote Learning Reflections

"Remote learning for me has been pretty good at most times, I enjoy doing my classes like this using a computer. However, a huge downside to this is that my teachers can’t really anything clearly to me and I have been basically teaching myself majorly of the stuff we do. Also, it has been rather stressful at times because teachers all seem to give us heaps of work during the one week (performance tasks specifically) and it becomes overwhelming. Positives to online learning have been that I can sleep in and you can take things more at your pace rather than having to finish everything in one go. Overall remote learning has been alright, I did like it better the first time though. :)"

Year 10 Captain

"My experience remote learning, and lockdown as a whole has been a roller coaster of emotions. Every day I wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast and walk to school (The desk that sits less than a meter from my bed. a truly exhausting journey, I know right) I have found this routine very flexible and efficient. However, it does get quite repetitive and drives me crazy a lot of the time. Much like I’m sure the rest of my peers feel, throughout this second lockdown the motivation to get things done just simply, isn’t there. Some days I’m drowning in work and struggle to focus. Then other days I can barely get out of bed. To navigate around my absence of motivation, I’ve found that it really helps to imagine yourself doing the required task, then it becomes so much easier to actualize it. Instead of looking at work as a chore, I picture it as something that will benefit me and that usually does the trick for reviving my motivation. Hopefully this tip helps someone out there reading this to find the motivation they need."
