Year 8 News

Year 8 Humanities

The Year 8 Humanities classes have also travelled back in time to Medieval Europe and have either cooked a sumptuous feast for their family, sewed a fashionable item of medieval clothing or built a model of a weapon, invention or castle.

Ball and Chain Flail

"The chain mace or flail as it was known in the medieval times, was a weapon used for striking the opponents shield or parry with the intention of breaking it. This weapon was  hard hitting but lacked accuracy. "

Remote Learning Reflection

“Remote learning was a great experience for me! I found it very similar to how normal school was, except for the fact that we were being taught digitally. All the teachers respected how we may be feeling and showed their understanding of our feelings in a very helpful and kind way. I feel as though Mornington Secondary handled the Covid restrictions perfectly, by giving us reasonable amounts of work and not changing too much about our normal school schedule. Throughout remote learning I have definitely felt less stressed/worried, I believe it’s because we are doing work in our own ways. We have been given a bit of flexibility as to how we can present work and it has allowed so many of us to relax a little and do the work in our own way. Online learning has been a different experience, but overall I actually really enjoyed it!”
