Year 7 News

The fabulous Year 7G

The Year 7G class have started this term learning about the world around us. An ideal time to begin this topic! Specifically, they have been learning about Liveability and Water. The students of 7G have learnt about the factors that influence where people live and have looked at different types of habitable places such as coastal, cities, remote and rural areas. The Liveability Unit also gave students of 7G more awareness on the Indigenous communities of Australia and how they live. Some fun historical facts that 7G have picked up while learning about the liveability factors of Vienna, is it being the birth place of famous French Queen, Marie Antoinette and croissants! During the unit of Water, 7G have also learnt about how people in different countries such as Africa, have access to water and has therefore increased their global awareness. Every Friday, a student from 7G will volunteer to host a fun Kahoot to kick start our lesson. Such is the way that our class has been coping with Remote Learning 2.0. The students of 7G have also been working extremely hard this week on their performance task, which requires them to design a model house with 6 designs that assist in water conservation and renewable energy. Here are some examples below.

DreamCatchers is a mutual mentoring program involving both year 7 and year 12 students.

The year 7’s are mentored by a year 12 student and the year 7 student’s support their year 12 by sending notes of encouragement and inspiration.

It is not long till the year 12 exams and we are sure the year 12 students will be most appreciative of their support.
