Term 3 Recap

Spring has sprung and the end of a long term has been completed. Our students have done a great job engaging with Home Learning and completing assessments.  A big thank you to all the parents for supporting this. At the Primary Assemblies it was evident that students have continued their learning and have made great gains since the beginning of the year. Students in the Secondary school have been completing tasks across all their subjects. In the Dunhelen Assemblies the students have been focusing on resilience and wellbeing with activities led by both students and staff. In Brookhill the senior students have been engaged in study skills sessions, Careers interviews, wellbeing activities and for our VCE and VCAL students, a preparation for final exams and assessments. There have been many students engaged in co-curricular activities that include Interact Club, EngGirls, extension activities, Songsters, Voices, instrumental music lessons, music concerts, environment and virtual sports activities, coding sessions, stop animation sessions, the Fairview Disco and the list goes on.

College Leadership Interviews

Student speeches and interviews for student leader positions were held in recent weeks and I must say what an impressive group of young people it was who presented themselves with confidence and a real pride in their school. Many of them have made outstanding contributions to the College and spoke of the importance of community and engagement. Well done to all those students who nominated.

Junior School Project

Planning continues for the construction of our new Junior School for Years 3-6. The building includes 12 classroom spaces, specialist facilities including a multipurpose space, STEM, Visual Arts classrooms, Gallery and administration spaces as well as indoor and outdoor learning areas. Artist impression and concepts images can be found here.

Farewell

We wish Miss Jessica Healey all the best as she leaves us to travel overseas. Miss Healey has done a wonderful job as our Youth Chaplain and in supporting ROC activities and Youth group. Next term we welcome Miss Jwan Kada as her replacement.

Safe Holidays

I wish all students and families a relaxing two week holiday period and look forward to the return of some students from Week 2 in Term 4 and the remainder soon after.
