Performing Arts Trivia Night

Last night’s Performing Arts Trivia Night brought together almost 60 students and staff in a fun end of term social event. Congratulations to Team Tommy, captained by Lewis M (Year 11) and including Nedim V (Year 10), Brennyn I (Year 8) and Laila D (Year 6). Their final score of 124 points earned them each a $50 Ticketmaster Voucher. Only two points back was Team High School Musical, captained by India L (Year 12) and including Sophie M (Year 10), Ojas S (Year 10) and Maya D (Year 6). A further six points behind them in third place was Team Spamalot, captained by Filipe F (Year 12) and including Sarah J (Year 9), Jessica Y (Year 8) and Peter D (Year 7). Congratulations to all involved and thanks to the senior students who undertook the Team Captain roles.

Online Instrumental Concerts

Thanks to all those who attended the two online Music concerts which were held earlier this week. It was really great to see the talent our students have managed to develop across this restricted learning period. Thanks in particular to Ms Beth Thomson for the organisation and the two tutors, Ms Ally Broddle and Mr Ben Muddyman. Keep your eyes open for further concerts like these next term.

Aitken Voices

Our Secondary choir, Aitken Voices, has continued to rehearse throughout the lockdown period with tutor, Ms Katie Wighton. Early this term, students recorded different sections of the song 'Sweet Disposition' by The Temper Trap. Across the term, students learn their parts and then Katie put together the final video performance. Please enjoy! https://youtu.be/BD07kcYs6OY

Lip Sync Battle 2. 0

As there have been very few entries submitted by the end of this term, the Lip Sync Battle will not be running next term.

Senior Exam Preparation

Our Year 12 Theatre Studies and VET Music Performance students have been hard at work preparing for their end of year performance exams. Theatre Studies students need to prepare a six minute monologue to perform before a panel of three assessors on Monday 12 October. Lots of work has been put into their presentations and we would like to invite everyone along to an online performance of their preparation. The performances are still very much in-progress and were filmed while they still had a month to rehearse and refine, but all are well on their way to being ready. The students would enjoy feedback from others. To watch the performances please click on the link: https://youtu.be/HueZ0tOBM4Y. Our VET Music Performance students will undertake their in-progress performance in the second week of next term and some of their repertoire will also be shared for our community to enjoy. Stay tuned!
