Years 4,5,6

Message from teachers

The 4/5/6 teaching team is back at school, seeing the younger students glow with happiness really makes us miss all the 4/5/6's.

For now continue your amazing Remote Learning activities and join the conferences throughout the day. 10 am is Homeroom conferences and smaller conferences set by your homeroom or inquiry teacher.

Getting ready for school

For now we know there are many students feeling excited about the return to school and possibly having mixed emotions. Below are some adult friendly resources that may help to strengthen your conversations about returning to school, anxiety, feelings and the virus.

We know that you can see all the amazing work your Newlands Learner is doing via SeeSaw already, however, we wonder if you noticed how integrated our cross curriculum learning is…

Buddy Program - School Values

Over the last two week students have been asked to plan an activity for their buddy. They will be sharing this with your buddy during the their first week back at school.

We will not be able to go to their classrooms to share what the students have made for their buddies but look forward to joining them through teams.

Students were asked to use your strengths when creating the activity.

Be Creative: By creating a book for them to read. Make a game or puzzle for them to play. Create a movie using a program such as iMovie for them to watch.

Be Caring: Show their buddy that they care about them.

Be Responsible: Complete their work before we return to school.

Here are some of the messages sent through by our students to thank their teachers and families for the support they have received during remote learning.

All your teachers and families are so proud of you.
