Years 2-3

Welcome back!

A very big welcome back to all our students and families this week. It has been so great to get back into the classroom and see all the smiling faces we have missed.

Everyone has done such a fantastic job with coming back to school.

In this first week of learning at school, we have minimised the use of technology. We have been doing fun activities that focus on our school values and key stones. Activities have also provided students with the opportunity to work in groups and socialise with each other. We have completed some writing tasks, read the book 'Hey Warrior', played games, completed science experiments and engaged in maths rotations. We cannot wait for what it is going to be a great end of Term 2 together in face-to-face learning.

In addition, students are not only finding their way to school again but they are also effectively getting used to the new rules we have established in order to ensure everyone’s safety. These are the following ones:

  1. Students sanitise their hands every time they enter the classroom.
  2. Students are sitting in the same table spot.
  3. Students are not allowed to bring toys or any belongings from home to school.
  4. Students have been given individual pencil cases with all necessary materials to carry out their activities.
  5. Students are using personal water bottles from home.
  6. Parents are not permitted inside the classroom.

Comics!

As requested by the students, we have been creating comics this week. Students worked in groups to collaborate and communicate. They have enjoyed the time to chat and create together and have produced some great comics.

Farewell and Welcome!

It comes with sadness that we say goodbye to some of our much loved students in the 2/3 area this week. Dominic, James and Henry are off to begin a new journey. Where we have lost some we have also been lucky enough to have two new students join us. A big welcome to Doris and Ali who will both be joining 23A!

Thank you!

We wanted to send a very big thank you to all the families for your support over this tough period of remote learning. It was definitely not an easy job
