Back to school

We are happy to announce that we are having a positive return to school in the F1 Community! Our students are successfully adapting to school again. They have shown themselves to be very excited and happy to see their peers and teachers in the first week of school after a long time away. It is wonderful to be able to see their eagerness and motivation to learn back in the classroom.

In this first week of learning at school, we have minimised the use of technology. We have been doing fun reading activities talking about our feelings and we have been writing letters. We have made an effort to use outdoor spaces to do our activities and we have revised our school values. We have resumed our Builders program with much excitement from students. We cannot wait for what it is going to be a great end of Term 2 together in face-to-face learning.

In addition, students are not only finding their way at school again but they are also getting used to the new rules we have established in the F1 area in order to ensure everyone’s safety. They are as follows:

  1. Students sanitise their hands every time they enter the classroom.
  2. Students are sitting in the same table spot.
  3. Only specific tables are using for mixed group activities.
  4. Take-home readers are not in use. Students are encouraged to use Raz-kids and Bug Club instead.
  5. Toys or any belongings are not to brought from home to school.
  6. Students are not allowed to cross to different classroom areas.
  7. Students have been given individual pencil cases with all necessary materials to carry out their activities.
  8. Water is available in classrooms for filling water bottles.
  9. Parents are not permitted inside the classroom.

'A Little Spot of Anxiety' Book

Because some anxiety may take place during these first few days, we would like to share this story with you to read with your child. 'A Little Spot of Anxiety' is an excellent book which very clearly explains what anxiety is, why we may feel it and how we can deal with it.

Stay safe

We have reminded our students how they can wash their hands effectively every time they use the toilet, before and after they have any food, and at any time they feel they have dirty hands. We think you could help us emphasise the importance of washing our hands nowadays by practising this 12-steps procedure with your child at home.

Goodbye to Remote Learning

F1 teachers appreciate our students' hard work while working remotely behind a screen. We are very proud of their participation and the amazing effort they have made.

However, this would have been impossible without the help from parents and relatives. We would like to THANK YOU for being there supporting your child's learning at all times during these difficult times. THANK YOU also for your flexibility and willingness to communicate and keep us informed of your child’s progress, concerns and difficulties throughout remote learning. THANK YOU for the gratitude you have shown us through messages, treats, chocolate and coffee deliveries! It has been our pleasure to bring you the activities of learning on Seesaw. A huge THANK YOU to you all.

Diplomas

A diploma at the age of 5 or 6... Who could have imagined?! Congratulations F1s.
