Year 9 Camp - Strathbogie Ranges

Student Wellbeing

Year 9 Camp was a week of adventure and bonding! The natural wonder of the Strathbogie ranges was our setting which inspired students to reach new heights. There is nothing like a physical challenge (such as a 3 hour hike or mountain biking through hill trails), braving the cold in a tent or learning to ski to bring a group of people together.

These shared experiences along with abseiling, rogaining, marshmallows around the campfire, spontaneous games and team challenges all created the perfect environment for this mature group of young people to rise to the occasion. They were filled with encouragement and support for each other as they embraced the outdoors and new experiences. Camp full of night games, students showing their scary story and shadow puppet skills. Students and teachers alike enjoyed the time to connect outside the classroom with plenty of laughter!

Skiing on Mount Buller in sparkling sunshine on fresh snow was a highlight with many experiencing the slopes on skis for the first time. Equally satisfying were students overcoming personal fears or limits as they found their level of challenge and then tried to go a step further. Charnwood Camp 2022 has created lasting memories!
