Year 9 & 10

What a week it has been! I had the pleasure of attending the Year 9 Werribee Zoo excursion which was a cross curricular excursion for our year 9 students for Science and Humanities. Students had a research task to complete for grasslands for Humanities and endangered species for Science linked to their classwork. Though it was freezing cold on the day, students and staff thoroughly enjoyed their time at the zoo and we all got to experience seeing some amazing animals like giraffes, rhinos, lions, zebras and monkeys!

This week is the year 10 formal on Friday 26th August. I will have a bigger report in my next newsletter after the event, but I am sincerely looking forward to this evening. I can’t wait to see students all dressed up and at the first Year 10 formal to occur since 2019!

The subject selection process continues. We are now following up with students who have not selected subjects. Most students have given careful consideration to their subjects for 2023 and I thank all of the staff involved in this process of supporting our students.

For our Year 9 students, we have the Gold Coast Camp coming up in September. There has been an information evening which I have communicated before. Students should look out for any announcements from Ms Russo or Mr Murcott as the camp date approaches.
