Basketball

It is with great pleasure that I inform the College Community that St Patrick’s have employed Mr Marvin Bayer to work with our basketball fraternity this summer. Primarily, Marvin will be working with Ms Apostolou and Mr Locke to prepare a program that is practical and achievable and focuses on skill development and game sense. Marvin will also take on the role of Head Coach with the First V.

Marvin is the owner and founder of MKB Athlete and has been designing strategic and purposeful programs for over 25 years to prepare his professional and junior players for competition, representative programs and high-level competition.

Marvin has been a Program Director, Development Officer and Coach at the NBL1 and representative level, with a strong track record of achieving exceptional results in player development and program building. He is passionate about working with the youth of Australia and the basketball community to build a positive team culture.

Marvin will be running Basketball Skills Camps in the first and second week of the school holidays and is offering our students an opportunity to be involved at a discounted price. While this is not a College endorsed activity, for those avid SPC basketballers, it may be a great way to prepare for the season ahead with one of our leading coaches. Boys may collect relevant flyers from the front desk on Wednesday or Friday of this week.

Please note that the College is looking fortwo basketball coaches to work with our 17s teams. Please don’t hesitate to contact me on 8705 9244 if you have an interest in taking on this role. Ideally, you would have previous experience in coaching and/or be suitably qualified. A Working with Children Referencenumber or willingness to get one is essential. Given the age group, it is most preferable that interested parties are over the age of 20.

Driver Needed

The College is seeking a suitably qualified driver who could assist with the transportation of the College’s sporting teams to training sessions off site of an afternoon. Suitable applicants should have the correct licence (Light Rigid) that would enable them to drive both the 24-seater and 14-seater mini-buses along with a current Working with Children Clearance number.

Interested parties should forward their expression of interest to Mr Calavassy and me via email by 3:00 PM Friday 23 September:  anthony.clavassy@spc.nsw.edu.au and  steven.fochesato@spc.nsw.edu.au.
