TOP TIP

We would really love it if parents could log into Compass at least once a week for a check to complete outstanding absences, permissions and check in on any other communications that are relevant to you and your children.  Perhaps Wednesdays could be a good reminder when you send your child in:

Sports uniform + bottle collection + canteen orders (when the canteen is operating after Basketball has finished for the term) + Newsletter and Compass Portal.

Hope this helps to keep everyone on track.

DENTAL VAN

The dental van will be at our school next week on Monday and Tuesday for all students who have returned their forms.

ATTENDANCE

It is a legal requirement that you log in to Compass to explain all absences within 7 days of your child being away from school.  You will not be able to complete this task after the 7 days has passed which means they will be recorded as Absent Unexplained. After a great deal of work and effort we did not have any unexplained absences at the end of  Semester One.  We are now back up to 41.  Please make this a priority.

WIZARD OF OZ

Wizard of Oz tickets will be released at the end of this week. We will send a news feed out with more details when this happens.  Please mark September 1 on your calendar as this is going to be a wonderful experience for both students, parents, carers and staff.

SCHOOL FEES

Term 3 accounts were emailed 26th July, 2022 and are due on Tuesday, 13th September, 2022.  Payment options remain unchanged and include via the Qkr App; EFT through bank (please use account number, under date on your statement & surname as reference); CentrePay and ADIG Direct Debit.

CANBERRA EXCURSION

The final payment for the Canberra excursion is due by Wednesday, 21st September, 2022 and thanks to the massive effort by 5/6 parents, school and the community the final amount payable has been substantially reduced.  The amount now due for each student is $185.50.

STAR Words Award

Last week at assembly we recognised Lottie's wonderful achievement of learning the first 50 Star Words. Congratulations Lottie - you surely are a rising star!

The Owl's Apprentice

On Monday 1st August, students travelled to the Royal Theatre to watch the stage production 'The Owl's Apprentice'. The students thoroughly enjoyed this interactive experience and loved the mix between shadow puppets, hand puppets and story-telling. Prior to the show, students had the opportunity to enter a colouring in competition. Congratulations to Violet, Brooklyn, Riley, Nate N, Jorja, Marshal, Cynthia, Ayden and Shivansh who were announced a free theatre pass for their colouring in efforts.

The Coolamon Challenge

Congratulations to Ryder and Ricky who were last week's winners of the yummy Coolamon voucher. The answers were:

Infants: I am a bird with wings. I do not fly. I am black and white. What am I? A: A penguin.

Primary: With four oars I swim, but I’m always at home. My back is like armor, tougher than chrome. What am I? A: A turtle.

This week's challenges are mathematical based. See the images below for the challenge.

Goodluck!
