Wildlife Extravaganza!

Last week our VCAL students were fortunate to have Ararat based 'Jamie & Kim's Mobile Zoo', come and deliver a hands-on session. Arranged by the VCAL class themselves, the session was focussed on encouraging the students to come out of their shell and have the confidence to try something they ordinarily wouldn't, with the overall aim to inspire students to better communicate with their peers and others within the community.

Jamie was an informative and entertaining host, giving students an in-depth understanding about some of Australia's native wildlife, our endangered species and the feral pests impacting their environment. With a wide variety of animals, including marsupials, reptiles and amphibians to interact with, there were many pats and cuddles, and lots of laughter all round.

The event was a great success, with all students happily engaging with the animals and one another throughout the entire session.
