We are beyond thrilled to welcome Madhavi Nawana Parker from Positive Minds Australia to speak with our parent community on the evening of Wednesday August 24th. The St Paul Lutheran staff were fortunate to have a staff wellbeing session with Madhavi at the beginning of the year and we also want you to have an opportunity to hear her speak.

Madhavi will focus her talk around Resilience, confidence and wellbeing: tips and tricks to help children grow from life’s ups and downs

Helping our children to stay safe online: Among Us

The Carly Ryan foundation https://www.carlyryanfoundation.com/ is an amazing South Australian based organisation which provides online safety, cyberbullying and proactive strategies to help our young people navigate the online space.

Attached is a fact sheet about Among Us:

Some key takeaways:

• The age rating in the App store is 9+
• It is recommended that your child is supervised and understands this is a game where they could potentially communicate with strangers.
• There is no report functionality so there is no way to report inappropriate users or behaviour.
• There are step-by-step guidelines to enable ‘censor chat’

Ongoing monitoring and questioning ensures your children are using apps like Among Us safely and only communicating with known people.

Connected Schools Worship

Next Tuesday 16 August, Year 4, 5 and 6 students and teachers will join with their peers from Good Shepherd Lutheran School and Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School to attend a combined worship service at Endeavour College along with their Year 8 and 9 students. Information has been communicated to all Year 4, 5 and 6 students and we ask that all consent forms are returned to your child’s teacher as soon as possible.
