3/4 Excursion to Healesville Sanctu

Excursion to Healesville Sanctuary by Clio F.
Yay! It was finally time to go to Healesville Sanctuary. Mr Smith counted us onto the bus.
The drive took two whole hours. When the bus parked, uh, oh…blurp! Someone threw up all over the floor!
We got off the bus and went to eat out brain food.
Next, we went to go see the koalas, echidnas, dingos, tree kangaroos and kangaroos. Oh, can’t forget the reptile house.
…And now the time had come to go to the bird show. There was a black breasted buzzard named Beatrice who instinctively knew how to crack open an emu egg with a rock. It was amazing!
Then we had our education session. We learnt about the emus; Drum and Blinky and did a scavenger hunt.
We also saw the platypus, Tassie devils and night animals.
At last, it was time to see the bird show again. Millie the Barking owl brushed her wing across my face as she soared overhead.
Next it was finally time to go home, we boarded the bus and started the long drive home.

I jumped up and down, I couldn’t wait!
We filed on to the bus, sitting down for the two-hour ride.
We arrived at the Sanctuary after the longest time of my life with people singing annoying songs. First off, we saw the cute koalas, echidnas and kangaroos. Next off we went to the reptile room, it wassss so awesomely cool, get it? After that load of fun, we went to Land of the Parrots, you guessed it, with parrots!
Then the fun began, it was time for the bird show!! It was a mix of parrots and raptors. My favourite bird was the kestrel it swooped over our heads. It was now time for our education session. We learnt about emus and indigenous artefacts. We saw dingos, Tassie devils, kangaroos and night animals. Cool right?
Finally, we went to the exact same bird show!
I loved it, I hope we go again. It was a great experience, and I learned a lot about Australia.
