All Day Fritz Excursion
On Wednesday the 14th of June, PLC1+2 and PLC4 were lucky enough to attend a relaxed performance of All Day Fritz at the Melbourne Recital Centre (MRC) in the city. Staff and students took two buses to the performance and arrived early but were lucky enough to be greeted by the wonderful staff of the MRC who led us to a special spot in the foyer with comfortable chairs, cushions, and an assortment of sensory toys for our students to enjoy while they ate their morning tea.
After a little peek at what MRC offered in their comfortable space, we then moved into the Primrose Potter Salon to our labelled section of seats to watch the performance! Students and staff had the option to sit at the front on cushions or to sit a little further back in the rows of seating. The performance ran for 45 minutes, and the band consisted of piano, guitar, double bass, trombone, and a couple of singers! They performed a handful of songs that had all the staff and students dancing around the room.
Once the performance was over, everyone from Belmore moved back into our little section of seats and cushions to eat lunch and have a chat using their preferred method of communication. All students did a fantastic job of eating their lunch at a slightly different time and at a different place! After we had our lunch, we moved back towards the buses who picked our Belmore superstars up just outside the door to MRC. Everyone enjoyed the bus ride home taking in all the different places we passed on the way, even the staff and students who were exhausted from our very busy day! What a successful day out in the city for our Belmore stars!
