Principal Report

Term 2

It was been a fast, but busy Term 2 for us at Belmore school. With engaging lessons and activities, multiple excursions, incursions and special events and more!

I would like to congratulate our students on their achievements throughout the first half of the year. Over the last week I have begun to read the reports that Teachers and Therapists have prepared and it is wonderful to note the progress our students are making. Two weeks of rest and recreation is well deserved, hopefully with the weather as sunny as it has been today.

Thank you

We would like to thank Carol Galhenage for generously donating the Hand Pan mini steel drum to Belmore school. It was a highlight for the students to listen to Carol demonstrate how to play this unique new instrument.

We are enjoying using this beautiful new addition to support transitions within the structure of our busy day - Emma Borland and SLC7

Visit from John Berger M.P.

On the 29th of May we had the pleasure of welcoming the honorable John Berger M.P. to Belmore School. Mr Berger was blown away with our school and our wonderful school leader, Livian as she took him on a tour of the school. This was evidenced in his address to Parliament on the 1st of June:

"As an elected representative I was excited to hear that Belmore School has elections of its own - how amazing. Students campaign for votes to be elected as a school student leader" and "It was my honour to meet with the school staff, who are determined, passionate and clearly dedicated".

He is looking forward to returning when our Capital Works Project is complete.

Last day of Term 2

As we head towards the end of term please note that school will finish at 2:30pm on the last day, Friday 23rd of June, which means buses will arrive home half an hour earlier than usual. Following two weeks of holidays Term 3 will commence on Monday the 10th of July.

I hope everyone has a safe and and happy holiday.
